When we talk about our salvation through Jesus’ death on the cross, you may have heard the word ‘justified’. This word means that we are now seen as righteous in the eyes of God. Pastor Mark often says ‘God now sees me JUST-AS-IF-I’D never sinned.
The beauty in all of this is that we did nothing to earn this justification. We weren’t good enough or nice enough. He simply gave it to us because he loves us.
“[We] are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,” Romans 3:24
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:8-10
To remind us that we have eternal life in Heaven because of something Jesus did, not because of something we did, we’re going to make a gift. Write one of these verses on a piece of paper and then put it in any empty box in your house. Then wrap it with paper, a ribbon and put your name on it.
This is the gift Jesus has given you.
