CalvaryKids (of all ages), show us your HELPING HAND!
Now that it’s September, let’s prepare ourselves for the Fall season.
Cooler weather. Colors of browns, oranges and yellows. Pumpkin pie!
But one of the best parts of fall, is the Thanksgiving holiday. This is when the whole country comes together to focus on being thankful and expressing gratitude. Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone did these things year round?!
Well, God wants us to try. He doesn’t want us to be tricked by the enemy into fighting or being angry with one another. He specifically says ‘love them anyway.’
‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ James 2:8
‘Neighbor’ doesn’t only refer to anyone who lives on your street, but rather anyone who lives on this side of heaven.
Let’s think of ways we can love others, or offer a helping hand. Maybe you like to open doors for people, or smile and say hi. Maybe you can donate some of your toys or clothes to foster families, or pack a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child. Maybe you can draw a fun picture and mail it to someone, or share your favorite toy with your brother or sister!
To help you brainstorm ways to help others, make some helping hands! Trace your hand, cut them out and write down a way you can help others feel loved. If you brainstorm a lot of ideas, you can use all of your hands to make an awesome wreath for Fall!
