CalvaryKids (of all ages), show us your HEART ON YOUR SLEEVE!
You’ve probably been told before that you shouldn’t judge people by the way they look on the outside, but rather by what’s on the inside. That’s a biblical statement, meaning it’s in the Bible.
‘If you show partiality, you are committing sin.’ James 2:9
You see, in the time when James lived, there was a lot of favoritism shown to the rich. In fact, many of the men would wear rings on their hands. Because jewelry was a luxury, the more you wore, the richer someone thought you were. And the richer someone thought you were, the better they would treat you. Some men actually wore rings on every finger!
Because you believe in Jesus, you should not judge someone by how they look or act, but instead love each person as Jesus loves you. But remember, there are also lots of people who don’t yet know and believe in Jesus. This means they may not behave the same way. So, we must show His love through our actions. Then they will see we are different and we can talk to them about Jesus.
An easy way to say this is ‘wear your heart on your sleeve’.
To remind yourself to act in love, create a heart and stick it, pin it or sew it to your sleeve. Take a picture and email it to us at calvary@calvaryphx.com, or post it on social media with #calvaryphxwatchparty and SHOW US YOUR HEART ON YOUR SLEEVE!
